Egypt 2009 - Days 12-13
Monday, Nov. 24 and Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2009 – Fly Home
We had a five AM wakeup call this morning, ate breakfast and went to the airport. Check-in wasn’t too bad. They had a well staffed area for our bus to check in. The flight left on time and arrived early. This was not the same aircraft that we flew over on and was cleaner and all restrooms were in use. Go Ahead was unable to get me on a flight to Denver on the day we arrived so I was scheduled to spend the night at the Best Western near JFK. This was fine with me as it would give me some time to get rested up before getting to Denver and driving home. Once we arrived at JFK, getting through immigration and customs was quick. I gathered my luggage, said my good-byes and made my way to the Best Western. One of the luxuries of being back in the USA: Being able to rinse my toothbrush under the tap in the sink. If nothing else, foreign travel makes one appreciate home more. The next morning, I flew to Denver via Phoenix, took the shuttle to the long term lot and drove home. I was greeted by my kitties and by bed felt ever so good.
